Company Info EBS was established in February 2003.  It is the successor firm of Small Consulting, a sole proprietor accounting firm founded by Shirlene Small in 1997.  EBS has a wide range of experience in working with small to mid-size businesses.  We have helped clients launch new business entities and operating units.  We have guided clients through high growth and expansion phases.  We have also assisted clients with the disposition of their businesses when they were ready to divest or retire.  At EBS, we have designed a service model that extends beyond traditional accounting services to one that promotes partnership and synergy between our firm and our clients’ businesses.  The principals of EBS are Shirlene Small, CPA and Doreena Towner, CPA, who are both Illinois licensed CPAs.  Together they bring almost forty years of accounting, auditing, operations management and business development experience in various industries including professional services, retail, manufacturing, real estate investment and development and film/entertainment. EBS has 8(a) and SDB certification from the Small Business Administration (SBA).  In addition, EBS has MBE/WBE (minority and woman owned business enterprise) certification from the Chicago Minority Business Development Council, the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago.  The principals of EBS are also members of the Illinois Production Alliance.
